Terms of Service

Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using lybra.dev, the application programming interface (API) at api.lybra.dev, or the Model Context Protocol (MCP) service at mcp.lybra.dev (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. The Service is offered by Rascode ("we," "us," or "Rascode").

Description of service

The Service provides access to reference data and documentation related to the Legal Electronic Data Exchange Standard (LEDES), the Uniform Task-Based Management System (UTBMS), and related publicly available industry materials, including through a website, authenticated HTTP API, and MCP tools. Plan tiers, quotas, and pricing are described on Pricing. Sandbox and paid plans may differ in rate limits and features.

No warranty of results

Using the website, REST application programming interface (API), or Model Context Protocol (MCP) does not guarantee the efficacy, correctness, completeness, or fitness of any result for a particular invoice, client portal, matter, or workflow.

Final responsibility is yours (and your firm's, product's, or agent operator's). Validation, acceptance by a third-party electronic billing (e-billing) system, and payment outcomes are not warranted by lybra.dev or Rascode.

What we offer: access to reference data and data structures drawn from publicly available LEDES, UTBMS, and related open industry materials, organized so you can maximize alignment of your bills' structure with those standards to the greatest extent practicable.

What we do not offer and cannot guarantee: that there will be no errors, no mismatches, no omissions, no portal-specific rejections, or no divergence from a particular client's proprietary e-billing rules. Standards evolve; portals add house rules; your upstream data may be wrong.

Agents: tool outputs are reference aids, not certified legal or billing advice. The operator remains responsible for what the agent submits or recommends.

Attorneys: the Service is not a substitute for professional judgment, engagement terms with clients, or advice on a specific matter.

Accounts and API keys

Access to authenticated endpoints requires API keys or credentials we issue. You are responsible for safeguarding credentials, for activity under your keys, and for complying with plan quotas. You must not share keys publicly or use another party's credentials without authorization.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Intellectual property

Rascode owns the software, site design, and original documentation we publish. LEDES, UTBMS, and related industry materials remain subject to their publishers' terms. We do not claim to own the industry standards themselves. Trademarks of third parties remain their owners' property.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. This disclaimer is in addition to the "No warranty of results" section above.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rascode and its affiliates, officers, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, or delayed payment of legal invoices, arising from use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the fees you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars if you paid no fees.

Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold harmless Rascode from claims arising out of your use of the Service, your invoices or products, your agents' outputs, or your violation of these terms or applicable law.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for abuse, non-payment, security risk, or violation of these terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitations, and indemnity) will survive termination.

Changes

We may update the Service or these terms. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes may be noted by updating the date at the top of this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your jurisdiction apply. Venue for disputes will be the state or federal courts located in Delaware, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Contact

For legal notices related to these terms, contact Rascode via the channels listed on rascode.dev or the support path associated with your API plan.
